Now, let’s get back to the home remedies

Studies conducted at the Columbia University have proved that cinnamon can help to regulate the menses and improve the fertility of women. These benefits are attributed to its ability to reduce the insulin resistance.

This property of Cinnamon can also come handy is treating hair loss.

What you will need

  • One teaspoon of cinnamon powder

How to use

  • Step 1: The all you need to do is mix one teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a glass of water. I would advise you to make the water a bit warm for better effects.
  • Step 2: Drink it once every day for a few months to stop the hair fall.
Alternative Method

You can also avail the benefits of cinnamon by including it in your regular diet. Just sprinkle cinnamon powder on your oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, peanut butter sandwich, or cottage cheese.

It will not just enhance the flavor of your dish, but also reduce your hair fall considerably. You can see the results within just 2-3 weeks.

since this herb acts by combating insulin resistance, women suffering from diabetes should be careful while using it.

saw palmetto berries

Saw Palmetto is a natural alternative for your hormonal treatment. It acts as a testosterone suppressant, and thus, addresses hirsutism and hair loss caused by PCOS.

This property of Cinnamon can also come handy is treating hair loss.

What you will need

  • One-fourth cup of fresh saw palmetto berries
  • One tablespoon of honey
  • One-fourth teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract

How to use

  • Step 1: add one-fourth cup of saw palmetto berries in a small pan. If you are using dried berries, use two teaspoons.
  • Step 2: Add two cups of boiling water to the pan and stir well. Put the lid and let the mixture boil for 15 minutes.
  • Step 3: Add one-fourth teaspoon of almond extract or vanilla and one tablespoon of honey and let is brew for a few minutes. Then, strain it and drink. You should drink this tea once every day for at least 5 to 6 weeks to get effective results.

You can reserve the strained out berries and use them again for the next batch.

since Saw Palmetto acts like a hormone, it should NOT be used during pregnancy, or while trying to conceive.

spearmint leaf

Drinking Spearmint tea is another effective way of treating PCOS hair loss. It works similar to Saw Palmetto. It reduces testosterone levels and regulates the production and release of other hormones in the body.

What you will need

  • 1 teaspoon of dried, and finely ground spearmint leaves
  • One teaspoon of stevia, honey, or agave

How to use

  • Step 1: Place one teaspoon of dried, and finely ground spearmint leaves in a cup. Alternatively, you can use 1.5 teaspoons of fresh leaves
  • Step 2: Pour half a cup of boiling water in the cup on the top of the leaves and let it stay for at least 10 minutes
  • Step 3: Enjoy this spearmint tea twice every day. Drink this daily for 6 to 8 weeks to see a noticeable difference in your hair growth.

You can make it more palatable by adding a natural sweetener like stevia, honey, or agave.

The most effective way to control PCOS hair loss is to ensure your hair are well-nourished.

Jojoba oil is one such natural ingredient that can provide great nourishment to your hair, improve the hair quality, stop the hair loss and even improve the regrowth of new hair.

jojoba oil

What you will need

  • Half a bowl of Jojoba oil
  • One-fourth teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract

How to use

  • Step 1: place a medium-sized vessel filled with water till its 3/4th on the burner and let the water boil
  • Step 2: pour Jojoba oil in a small bowl. The bowl should only be half-filled
  • Step 3: hold the bowl using a holder over the steam coming out of the vessel till the oil gets warm
  • Step 4: use this warm oil to gently massage your scalp using your fingertips. Massage for at least 10 minutes. I would advise you to use this remedy before the bedtime. Allow it to stay overnight and wash it off with a mild shampoo the next day morning.

I used numerous home remedies with a permutation and combination of many herbal ingredients that are known to improve the hair growth. And finally, I found these 4 that worked the best.

If you ask me which one of these is the most effective, I would say:

The last one

It acts directly on the scalp and keeps your hair and scalp healthy and well-nourished.

But, to make it work better, you have to combine it with the other remedies so that the root cause of your hair loss, the PCOS, or the hormonal imbalance, to be more precise, is taken care of.
